REVIEW: these arms are snakes, oxeneers or the lion...

Otro grupo que está girando actualmente con Isis por los EE.UU. These arms are snakes, a parte de tener un nombre raro de cojones (y no digamos el nombre del LP: Oxeneers or the Lion Sleeps When Its Antelope Go Home (???????)), son de Jade Tree records, un sello que saca una de cal y otra de arena. Hacen un hc moderniqui (vamos, que son unos afrancesado) a-la math rock... bueno, no hay mejor manera de definir que la comparación (al fin y al cabo, no hay nada nuevo bajo el sol, no?): las guitarras suenan a ratos a unos Botch menos agresivos, a ratos con movidas a Mars Volta ('La Stanza bianca'). Como cualquier grupo modernico que se precie, está todavía bajo la influencia de Refused. Las canciones más movidillas, las mejores ('Shit sisters', Big News...). Hay una tranquila que es para ostiarlos ('Your white pearly..'). Esa voz de nene-chillón que suena un poquito a los forzadísimos Blood Brothers. Habrá que verlos en directo (si tenemos la posibilidad), a ver si al menos tienen algo entre las piernas, no como las citadas hermanas de sangre.
